Yuri Gagarin and the Burning Man

I've been reading a few stories about Yuri Gagarin, the first human to roar into space.

And how this humble man remains a hero to so many people all over the world 43 years after his death.

He could not have thought that when he said "off we go" on the launch pad that he personally would have touched so many people's lives. He still inspires today and deserves his place among the world's great explorers.

But no story impressed me more than his attempt to save the life of a friend.

The cosmonaut who crashed to earth crying in rage.

The Soviets didn't have the money the Americans had. Their capsules were primitive.

But they still beat them into space.

I'm glad the bravery of those first space pioneers is finally being recognized.

Because they sure deserve it...
