The Bubba Pump and the Dirty Oil Monster

As oil continues to spew into the Gulf of Mexico, and threatens to wipe out a way of life, isn't it great to know that BP's Big Boss wants HIS life back?

The first thing to say is I’m sorry. We’re sorry for the massive disruption it’s caused their lives. There’s no one who wants this over more than I do. I would like my life back."

His fabulous six-million dollars a year life. I mean who can blame him eh?

Now why doesn't he go tell Tom the fisherman how much he's suffering:

Our way of life is over. It’s the end, the apocalypse and no one outside of these few parishes really cares. They say they do, but they don’t do nothing but talk…Where’s the person who says these are real people, real people with families, and they are hurting.”

Or better still ....why don't we give Tony a new logo?

Or have him sit on this one..

But of course it's not all his fault. Let's not forget the bigger message of this crime against the planet.

Or the dirty oil monster in our own backyard...

Or that we're all part of the problem.

If we didn't love cheap oil so much they wouldn't be drilling for it at the bottom of the Gulf.

If the Americans didn't love our dirty oil so much they wouldn't allow us to pump it to them in thin pipes.

One big question is whether TransCanada should get waivers to use thinner pipes on Keystone XL than is normally required in the United States...even though the new pipes would traverse pristine territory, including the Ogallala Aquifer, which supplies water to a wide swath of the nation’s breadbasket and where even a small spill could have grave consequences.

Yessiree as they say in Texas. Today it's BP.... tomorrow it will be Canada.

Oil fouls the planet and corrupts everything it touches.

The sooner we move beyond it, the sooner we'll save ourselves...
